do you think it is a useful supplement if you’ve already completed 210?

If you’re interested in dabbling with Python and/or extending the design principles you learned in 110 using a different language, I think 189 would be a good supplement. However, I don’t really think it taught me anything new or particularly noteworthy; it’s more of an extension to 110 than anything else, in my opinion (and having completed 210 before 189 makes no difference). I’d think of it as an interesting elective, but you’re not missing out on anything important if you choose not to take 189.

hmm. i’m going to be in 2nd year CS this fall and i was considering taking it in the spring. i like carter’s teaching style so i’ll probably do it, if not this year sometime in my undergrad lol. is the workload reasonable for 1 credit? (and 65% final…. hmmmmmmm :$)

No worries. If you aren’t sure about the workload (it’s pretty light), you can take a look at the readings and labs online; they’re posted up on Google Sites (and are publicly accessible just like 110) to get a rough idea of what will be covered.
